Be Job Creators, Not Seekers, Participants Told As SAED Training Closes

THE Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme for Batch B Stream 1 corps members in Delta State has come to an end.

The closing ceremony of the two-week programme which took place at the Orientation Camp in Issele-Uku, over the weekend featured exhibitions and  award presentation.

Speaking at the event, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr. Olusegun Alao commended the SAED officials, resource persons, and corps members for their dedication and enthusiasm. He further encouraged corps members to hone their skills and take advantage of empowerment schemes for entrepreneurial development.

The Head of the  SAED programme, Mrs. Akuagbaogu Nzogi, expressed delight at the increased participation in the entrepreneurship development initiative, while urging corps members to seize opportunities and continue their training after camp.  The Camp Director, Mr. Olumide Adekeye, noted his satisfaction with the practical results from the various skills training departments, which showcased an array of products such as fascinators, hand fans, leather bags, and more.

Additionally, a representative of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Mr. Febau Tamara, PRO of the Afritropic Farming and Agro Services, heaped praises on the corps members’ accomplishments and urged them to become job creators, rather than job seekers.

The event culminated in the presentation of awards to outstanding corps members, including the Automobile class coordinator and those who demonstrated exceptional skills during SAED training.
