THE Delta State National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Coordinator, Mr. Olusegun Alao has urged corps members to be good cultural ambassadors.

He made the call during the cultural carnival of the 2024 Batch B Stream 1 corps members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Issele-Uku, headquarters of Aniocha North Local Government of Delta State.

In his address at the occasion, Alao welcomed camp officials and corps members, emphasizing the importance of embracing the country’s cultural heritage.

“I encourage all corps members to have fun and view the carnival as an opportunity to proudly showcase their cultures, traditions and culinary delights. It is important to be good ambassadors of your respective cultures even after leaving the Camp”, he said.

Meanwhile, the Camp Director, Mr. Olumide Adekeye expressed delight at the successful outcome of the event, attributing it to divine grace. He praised the corps members for their tireless efforts and cooperation throughout the preparation for the festivities.

The Head of Man O’ War, Mrs. Nancy Mba, in her speech, highlighted the significance of the carnival, calling it “a celebration of culture and a testament to the corps members’ endurance during rigorous training”. She advised the corps members to “remember and apply the lessons learnt.”

Among the highlights was the recognition and awarding of platoons for outstanding performances.
