Amori Harps On Unity Among Ex-APC Councillorship Aspirants

BY JOELSON WILSON

THE Chief Adviser to the Governor of Delta State, Senator Ighoyota Amori has said that the outcome of the 2024 Councillorship elections should not be viewed as a defeat by those who lost , but rather an opportunity for those who emerged victorious to serve the people.

Senator Amori made the statement when he received on a courtesy visit, the 2024 All Progressives Congress (APC) councilorship candidates from the 25 local government areas of the state in his office in Asaba.

According to the Chief Adviser, “the 2024 Councillorship elections is not a defeat but an opportunity for those that won to serve. What matters now is that we are united in purpose and ready to move Delta forward.”

Senator Amori, who expressed delight over the unity between the two political parties, noted that the coming together of both groups had created a stronger political force that no other party can withstand.

“I am glad that the two political parties are now one and together. Now that we are together, there is no party that can withstand the combination. It is for us to integrate properly and work towards the upcoming elections. For that to happen, everyone needs to be carried along,” Amori stated.

He emphasized that councilors remained the backbone of grassroots mobilization and therefore, deserved attention and inclusion in the political process.

“Councilors are the mobilisers of the grassroots, and they must be given attention if we want our developmental and political goals to be achieved,” he said.

The delegation, led by Comrade Caulmah Ebikonbowei, arrived with the entire executive from the 25 local government areas to express their solidarity with the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and to appeal for inclusion in ongoing development efforts.

In his concluding remarks, Senator Amori assured the group of the government’s open-door policy, stressing that the spirit of unity and collaboration would continue to guide the administration.

“There is no victory, no vanquish. We are all working towards one Delta and one purpose,” he affirmed.
