Delta CSC Flags Off Screening For Admin Cadre Transfers

… Inaugurates Panel Of Assessors

BY RITA OYIBOKA

The Delta State Civil Service Commission (CSC) yesterday inaugurated a 10-person panel of assessors to screen and interview civil servants who passed the 2025 edition of the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) Public Service Examination.

Speaking at the occasion held at the Commission’s headquarters in Asaba, the Chairman, Lady Roseline Amioku, said the screening exercise is a critical step towards repositioning the state’s civil service in line with the MORE agenda.

According to her, “This ceremony is to inaugurate a panel of assessors formally constituted to screen and interview civil servants who were successful in the 2025 ASCON Public Service Examination.

“The purpose of the exercise is to enable the Commission to make informed recommendations for the transfer of these officers into the administrative and special departmental cadres of the civil service.”

While disclosing that the assignment is expected to be completed within six weeks, Lady Amioku stressed that the members of the panel were carefully selected based on competence, dedication, and track record of service. “We are counting on you to go beyond the normal call of duty and help the Commission achieve its mission of a vibrant and strategically positioned civil service,” she said.

Highlighting the impact of the yearly exercise, Amioku noted that from 2015 to 2024, a total of 524 civil servants who passed the ASCON examination were successfully transferred to various cadres across the state service.

She commended the State Governor, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori for providing the necessary support and resources, without which the Commission, she said, would not have recorded such progress.

In his response, the Chairman of the newly inaugurated panel, Mr. Theophilus Aguonye, expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve and pledged commitment to fairness and diligence.

“We are honoured to be entrusted with this responsibility. Our collective focus is to ensure a transparent, objective, and credible screening process that reflects merit and integrity. This assignment goes beyond result verification; it is about improving performance and fostering excellence in the civil service,” Aguonye said.

He encouraged panel members to contribute meaningfully, assuring that the task would be handled with professionalism and accountability.
