May Day: Guwor Lauds Delta Workers’ Commitment To State’s Devt

AS Nigerian workers joined the rest of the world in marking this year’s Workers’ Day, yesterday, the Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor has lauded the hard work and dedication of the state’s workforce towards the overall development of the state.

In a goodwill message to the Nigeria Labour Congress, (NLC) and all the affiliate bodies in Delta State, the Speaker reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the State Legislature towards supporting policies that would improve the welfare and working conditions of workers in the state.

The Speaker in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, (CPS,) Mr. Nkem Nwaeke wished the workers the best at all times, saying “May your efforts be recognized and rewarded”.

Rt. Hon. Guwor particularly, appreciated members of the Delta State chapter of the Parliamentary Association of Nigeria, (PASAN), for their resilience and contributions to the law making process in the State Assembly.

He said their support and commitment to duty has helped in no small measure to the stability in the state legislature as well as peace and good governance of the state.

The Speaker extended the warm felicitation to Nigeria workers across states of the federation on the International Labour Day, wishing them moments of unending joy.

He said: “To workers across Nigeria, I celebrate your sacrifice and contributions. May your voices be heard, and your rights protected.

“The Delta State House of Assembly will continue to advocate for policies that promote workers’ welfare and national development. “Happy International Workers Day celebration”, Guwor stated.
