Chairman of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), and the Aghwemutuwevwi of Idjerhe Kingdom, Olorogun John Nani, has declared unwavering support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori in the 2027 general elections.
Barr. Nani, a former Delta lawmaker and Commissioner, made this declaration on Thursday during a meeting at his country home in Jesse, where he lauded the President and the Governor for their transformative leadership, strategic reforms, and commitment to sustainable development. He described the duo’s governance style as the best model for national renewal and state-level advancement.
According to him, the nation is beginning to feel the impact of President Tinubu’s bold economic policies, infrastructure investments, and political courage in the face of complex challenges.
“President Tinubu has shown capacity, courage, and commitment in steering Nigeria through difficult but necessary reforms. His policies are laying the foundation for a prosperous nation, and he deserves to be supported for a second term to consolidate these gains,” Nani stated.
On the political realignments unfolding in Delta State, Nani hailed Governor Oborevwori’s recent defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a game-changing move for the state.
“Governor Oborevwori’s decision to join the APC is a masterstroke for progress. It signals a new direction for Delta State, one that aligns with the federal structure for optimal development. He has placed the interest of the state above personal and partisan interest, and this is the kind of leadership Delta state needs now,” he said.
He noted that the Governor’s More Agenda now finds stronger synergy with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, creating a platform for accelerated development, improved federal-state collaboration, and inclusive governance for the people of Delta State.
He also pointed to the growing momentum in the state’s political landscape, following the mass defection of all top PDP stakeholders including the immediate past governor and former PDP vice presidential candidate, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa CON to the APC, as a sign of “a new era of unity, strength, and focused governance.”
“This is not just politics; this is a movement to reposition Delta. The synergy between the President Tinubu-led Federal Government and the Gov. Oborevwori-led State Government will unlock greater opportunities for Deltans across all sectors,” he emphasized.
Addressing the policies and projects of the Asiwaju Tinubu administration, Nani commended the President for the massive ongoing construction of the Edo/Delta axis of the East-West Road, the massive work on the Sapele, Abraka, Agbor road, the approach road to the Second Niger Bridge and renewed efforts in tackling insecurity, revamping agriculture, and empowering youth through digital transformation and social investment programs. “Transformation is not an overnight process.
We have seen foundational efforts in power, infrastructural development, digital economy, and national security. These require time and continuity to mature into tangible national prosperity,” he noted.
He urged Nigerians and Deltans alike to begin early mobilization and support for the APC and its candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections, adding that national development requires consistency in vision and leadership.
“This strategic synergy between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is a winning formula for stability, growth, and national rebirth. Let us give them the mandate to continue the work they have started,” Nani concluded.
