CIVIL servants in Delta State have been charged to fully support the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as it continued to drive the MORE Agenda for sustainable development.
The wife of the state Governor and Founder, You Matter Charity Foundation, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, gave the charge while hosting members of the Forum of Female Permanent Secretaries at Government House, Asaba, yesterday.
Addressing the Forum, Deaconess Oborevwori described the female permanent secretaries as accomplished professionals who have distinguished themselves through dedication, competence and integrity in public service.
She commended the women for their leadership roles across various ministries, noting that their rise to the peak of the civil service was a testament to discipline, perseverance and excellence.
The Governor’s wife urged them to continue to work in unity, uphold the rules and ethics of the civil service, and serve as worthy role models to younger women aspiring to leadership positions.
Deaconess Oborevwori emphasized that women in leadership play a critical role in policy implementation, institutional stability and nation-building, adding that their contributions remain vital to the success of the Oborevwori administration.
She appealed for sustained support and prayers for the present administration to enable it deliver more dividends of democracy to Deltans.
Responding on behalf of the forum, the leader of the group and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Renewal, Mrs. Charity Ehimen commended the initiatives of the You Matter Charity Foundation, describing its programmes as impactful and people-oriented.
Mrs. Ehimen expressed the readiness of the Forum to collaborate with the Governor’s wife through relevant ministries, particularly in special needs care advocacy and educational support initiatives.
The forum also lauded Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his gender-sensitive approach to governance under the MORE Agenda, noting that Delta State has recorded significant progress in achieving gender balance within the civil service during his administration.
Also present at the visit was the state Head of Service, Dr. (Mrs.) Minie Oseji. The highlight of the visit was the presentation of a souvenir to the Forum by Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori.
