Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, has carried out a minor cabinet reshuffle involving key commissioners in the education and energy sectors, while also approving the nomination of three distinguished individuals to the Governing Council of Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka.
In a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Kingsley Emu, the redeployments, which take immediate effect, are as follows, Engr. Michael Anoka moves from the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Renewal to the Ministry of Energy. Former Commissioner for Energy, Hon. Sunday Tataobuzogwu has been deployed to the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Renewal.
Also, former Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu, is now expected to hold forte at the Ministry of Primary Education, while erstwhile Commissioner for Primary Education, Dr. Kingsley Ashibuogwu moves to the Ministry of Secondary Education.
The reshuffle is aimed at optimising administrative efficiency and ensuring seamless delivery of the administration’s M.O.R.E Agenda, particularly in critical areas such as energy infrastructure and foundational education.
In a related development, Governor Oborevwori has nominated three persons to serve on the Governing Council of DELSU, Abraka.
Prominent among them is one-time Secretary to the State Government, Rt. Hon. Ovie Agas; one-time speaker, Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA), Rt. Hon. Frank Enekorogha and Hon. Charles Ajuyah (SAN).
The statement noted that the inauguration date for the new council members will be announced in due course.
These appointments and redeployments underscore the governor’s commitment to strategic leadership placements, strengthening governance, and advancing educational excellence in Delta State.
The affected commissioners and nominees bring a wealth of experience to their new roles, and observers expect enhanced performance across the respective sectors.
