House Agent Suffers Stroke After Rental Scam

Residents of the PTI area in Effurun, Delta State, were left in shock after a 31-year-old unlicensed agent, identified simply as Kess, reportedly suffered a stroke following allegations that he fraudulently rented out the same two-bedroom apartment to three different people.

According to local sources, Kess, who was said to have been operating as an unregistered property agent, allegedly collected agency fees from three prospective tenants for the same flat but refused to refund any of them after being exposed.

Trouble reportedly began when some of the victims threatened to take legal and spiritual action against him after repeated attempts to recover their money failed.

The situation took a dramatic turn when Kess’s wife raised an alarm that her husband could no longer move his legs. Neighbours quickly rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors confirmed that he had suffered a stroke.

As of press time, medical sources said his condition remained critical, even as residents speculated that his sudden illness might be “spiritually connected” to his alleged fraudulent lifestyle.
