NADESSTU To Inaugurate Committee For 30th Anniversary Celebration

THE National Association of Delta State Students (NADESSTU) has inaugurated a Central Planning Committee (CPC) and sub-committees to coordinate preparations for the Association’s 30th Anniversary celebration, marking three decades of advocacy, unity, and growth.

The inauguration, which took place at the Prof. Chike Edozien Secretariat in Asaba, officially kick-started activities leading to the NADESSTU at 30 Anniversary, slated for November 20th to 22nd, 2025.

Speaking during the session, the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Comrade Godfrey Regha, expressed the Committee’s readiness to deliver a memorable celebration that will reflect the Association’s legacy of unity and service.

He noted that the CPC would function through four key sub-committees; the Award, Welfare, Security and Protocol, and Publicity Committees, to ensure efficiency and inclusiveness in planning and execution.

“This 30th Anniversary must reflect the unity, vision, and resilience that have defined NADESSTU since inception,” Comr. Regha stated, adding that early preparations and accountability would be central to the Committee’s operations.

In his remarks, the National President of NADESSTU, Comrade Joseph Oyinkare-ebi,  commended members for their commitment to the Association’s ideals and charged them to uphold the spirit of unity, service, and excellence.

He described the forthcoming NADESSTU at 30 as more than just a celebration but “a movement to celebrate our collective journey and reaffirm our unity as Delta State students.”

The President disclosed that the anniversary would honour past and present student leaders, recognise contributors to the Association’s growth, and unveil developmental projects to strengthen NADESSTU’s institutional structure.

“NADESSTU at 30 is about honouring our heroes, empowering our students, and setting a new pace for the future.”

Among the key initiatives planned for the celebration are the establishment of a permanent National Secretariat and the introduction of empowerment programmes such as the 100 for 30 scheme, aimed at supporting 30 young entrepreneurs with ₦100,000 each and the 10 for 30 initiatives, which will provide ₦10,000 monthly to 30 deserving students.

Other lined-up activities include quiz competitions, innovation showcases, and extensive publicity campaigns designed to rekindle student participation and pride across all campuses.

The Committee Chairman, in his closing remarks, expressed confidence in the capacity of the planning team to deliver a world-class celebration that would reflect NADESSTU’s 30-year history of impact and commitment to student welfare. He assured that the CPC would work diligently to ensure that the anniversary not only celebrates the Association’s past achievements but also sets a clear vision for the next generation of Delta State students.
