Movement From PDP To APC: Deltans ‘ll Reap More Benefits, Says Agbi

Delta State Governor, the Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori will continue to deliver projects that are beneficial to the people of the state not minding the movement from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Project Monitoring and Audit, Engr. Goodnews Agbi, said the governor was relentless in ensuring that Deltans benefit from the dividend of democracy and has embarked in carrying out projects in various parts of the state.

Agbi, who has continued to put contractors on their toes to ensure that projects are delivered not just on time but according to specification, disclosed this while inspecting the reconstruction of Aruabor/Ejebe Road extension/link road off Oleh-Olomoro in Isoko South Local Government Area.

He observed that in trying to solve a problem, more problems were created because the road is too high, while the houses along the road that are lower than the formation level, adding that every other aspect was okay as the contractors had promised to put ramps in each of the houses.

“As it is, the stone base has been done and there is nothing we can do. But that aside, I must commend the sizes of the reinforcement used for the drains. They are more than the usual. The stone base are very adequate”, he said.

According to him: “the contractor is doing a very good job. He’s following the specification. We are going to ensure that the good work the Governor is doing continues whether we move to PDP or APC. This time there will be no opposition. Everything will be flowing properly”.

Other projects inspected were the rehabilitation of Ekapamre/Ekrokpe/Usiefurun/Orhuwhorun road in Ughelli South and Udu local government areas and the construction of Otokoto/Opete road in Udu local government area, where the Special Adviser hinted that the projects being put together for commissioning were so many.

“Sometimes we are overwhelmed with the number of projects to monitor and everywhere you go in Delta is construction.

“Now we have both Federal and state government on one party, Deltans will enjoy and be the greatest beneficiaries of the movement”, he emphasised.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure, Nathaniel Azuka, who was in company of the Special Adviser on Project Monitoring and Audit amongst other professional engineers, commended the contractors as he described the projects inspected as excellent.
