Ughelli–Asaba Dual Carriageway Nearing Completion —Oborevwori

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has assured that the dualisation of the Ughelli–Asaba Road will soon be completed.

The governor gave the assurance during a recent inspection of the Olomoro–Igbide Road reconstruction in Isoko South Local Government Area, as well as ongoing works on Sector C2 of the Ughelli–Asaba Expressway.

Governor Oborevwori noted that Deltans were pleased with the pace and quality of infrastructure projects being delivered by his administration.

He said the widespread commendation from residents was a clear reflection of his government’s commitment to inclusive growth and sustainable development.

Expressing satisfaction with the progress of works on both the Igbide–Olomoro Road and the Ughelli–Asaba Expressway, the governor said the initiatives under his administration’s MORE Agenda were already producing tangible benefits for citizens across the state.

“I am impressed with the speed and quality of work being delivered. I was here in March, and the contractors assured me that Sector C1 would be completed by May. From what I have seen, they are on course. This project will soon be completed.

“We’ve received numerous commendations from commuters using this road. It now takes less than two hours to travel from Asaba to Ughelli. This 143-kilometre road is a major achievement, and it is clear that people are benefiting,” Oborevwori said.

The governor stressed that the contentment of the people remained the true measure of success in governance. “We are all happy because we were elected to serve and bring meaningful development. When the people are satisfied, that brings me joy,” he said.

“From roads to healthcare and education, our projects are making a real difference in people’s lives and that is the essence of good governance.”

He added that positive feedback had been received from all three senatorial districts, with citizens lauding improvements in road networks, schools, healthcare infrastructure, and youth empowerment programmes.

“This tells us we are on the right path, and it motivates us to do even more,” he said. Governor Oborevwori reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that every part of the state benefits from the dividends of democracy. He stated that numerous projects had already been completed in readiness for the administration’s second anniversary.

He also restated his commitment to the prompt payment of contractors, urging them to accelerate their work while pledging to deliver even more under the MORE Agenda and in alignment with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
