The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has thrown its weight behind the High Impact Conference for Educators (HICE 2026), declaring full endorsement and sponsorship for the landmark event organised by The Explore Foundation.
The conference is scheduled to hold on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at a venue in Asaba, Delta State, under the theme “Empowering Educators: The Path to Transformation.”
In a statement issued by the NDDC, it described the conference as a strategic platform to equip teachers, school administrators and education stakeholders with practical tools to drive lasting change in Nigeria’s classrooms, with special focus on the Niger Delta region.
Speaking on the endorsement, NDDC Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, said: “Education is the foundation upon which the future of any nation is built. At the NDDC, we recognise the critical role of educators in shaping the next generation.
“By endorsing and supporting HICE 2026, we are contributing to the transformation of education in the Niger Delta and Nigeria at large. This conference is an essential platform to empower educators and create lasting change in the educational sector.”
Convener of the conference, Mrs. Uche Monu, disclosed that HICE 2026 will attract over 500 educators, administrators, policymakers and thought leaders from across the country.
According to her; “the one-day event will feature sessions on innovative teaching methods, inclusive learning environments, teacher leadership development, and practical strategies to strengthen public education”
“The conference is completely free for participants and will include extensive networking opportunities designed to turn teachers into agents of change in their schools and communities.” She noted.
Chairman of the NDDC Board, Mr. Chiedu Ebie, added; “The NDDC’s support for HICE 2026 is a testament to our commitment to shaping the future of education in the Niger Delta and beyond.”
“By partnering with The Explore Foundation, we are ensuring that the educators of tomorrow have the resources, training, and inspiration they need to drive sustainable development in the region.”
“The NDDC’s backing aligns with its core mandate of promoting sustainable development through infrastructure, social services, education and environmental protection in the oil-rich region. The commission has also called on other corporate organisations, NGOs and individuals to join the initiative by supporting the conference.”
The Explore Foundation is a non-profit organisation dedicated to expanding access to quality education, especially for children in underserved communities across Nigeria.
