The Obaro Charity Foundation has awarded a three-year scholarship worth ₦3.74 million to Ubogu Avura-Koghene, a brilliant student from Owhelogbo community in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The scholarship will enable Ubogu to pursue a course in Nursing at Mary Martha College of Nursing and Science.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Mr. Burutu Obaro Freedom, presented the award, disbursing ₦3.24 million for tuition and ₦500,000 for upkeep to support the student’s academic journey.
According to the Foundation, the scholarship was granted in recognition of Ubogu’s exceptional academic performance and resilience in the face of adversity, having lost both parents.
Present at the award ceremony was Mr. Akpososo Oghenewogaga, Ubogu’s English teacher, who lauded the Foundation for its compassion and commitment to educational support.
He described the gesture as “a beacon of hope for the less privileged”, adding that the Foundation’s intervention would inspire other students facing similar challenges.
The Obaro Charity Foundation has continued to receive praise for its sustained efforts in empowering disadvantaged youths and supporting vulnerable individuals across Delta State.
