Inclusive Development Remains My Priority –Elumelu

…As He Embarks On Consultation Visit

BY SUNDAY EGEDE

The former Minority Leader in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, who represented the people of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, said inclusive development remains his utmost priority.

Rt. Hon. Elumelu disclosed this when he led his Campaign Council on a consultation visit to the entire executive structure of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and stakeholders of the party in Aniocha South Local Government Area of the state at the APC secretariat in Ogwashi-Uku.

He noted that infrastructural development in every constituency was the right of the electorate who voted their representatives into political offices, stressing that development was not a favour to the people but their right.

“For me, development is not a favour to the people; it is their right. The people invested their votes in us, and what they deserve in return are the dividends of democracy. That is what I call the return on investment ,” Elumelu added.

While expressing profound appreciation to the APC executive committee members at the local government and ward levels for their support, he also, thanked leaders and stakeholders of the party in the area for the warm reception accorded him.

Elumelu told the party leaders that he was at the secretariat to consult them on his intention to return to the House of Representatives by contesting the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency seat in next year’s general elections in the country.

The former Federal Lawmaker said he decided to return to the National Assembly because of the infrastructural deficit in the constituency and the need to partner Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other stakeholders in bringing the needed dividends of democracy to the area. He outlined his achievements in his three terms as a legislator at the National Assembly to include building of 10 power sub-stations, donation of 40 Hilux vans to the four local government councils in the constituency, 1,000 transformers, streetlights, empowerment and scholarship scheme, training programmes for council chairmen, vice chairmen, and councillors in Abuja, erection of buildings and upgrade of facilities at the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba.
