- Shettima, Oborevwori, Obasanjo, Jonathan, Anyaoku, Others Grace Swearing-In Ceremony

THE Vice President of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, former presidents, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and Dr Goodluck Jonathan, as well as former Commonwealth Secretary-General, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, yesterday, graced the occasion marking the swearing-in ceremony of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo and his deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, for second term, held at the Alex Ekwueme Square Awka, Anambra State.
Other dignitaries who were also at the event were the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, represented by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, the Oni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan, the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Achebe, former governor of the State, Senator Chris Ngige, Hon Paschal Agbodike, Chief Ebuka Onunkwo, members of the State House of Assembly, APC leaders, Yoruba community, Hausa community, captains of industries, traditional rulers, presidents-general of the 179 communities in the state, APGA supporters and others.
In his inaugural speech, Soludo promised to sustain his development agenda for a better Anambra, assuring that the administration will continue from where he stopped in the first tenure.
Promising that he will not take the request of Anambra people for granted, Governor Soludo said, “I will continue to be the governor for all.
“I appealed to my co-contesters in the November 8, 2025 governorship election to partner my administration to move Anambra State forward.
The Governor, who commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his wife, Senator Remi Tinubu for them continue efforts in making Anambra a healthy, lovable and prosperous state in Nigeria.
In his remark, the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima said the Federal Government remained committed in partnering with Anambra State to move the country forward.
He urged the people to support the governor to enable him actualize his vision of making Anambra a destination hub of Nigeria.
The swearing-in oath taking was performed by the state Chief Judge, Justice Onochie Anyachebelu, and the ceremony attracted many dignitaries, Clergymen, traditional rulers, business community, market groups, top politicians irrespective of their political parties among other friends from Anambra state and beyond.
