BY RITA OYIBOKA

A political support group, Arise Sustainable Initiative for Tinubu and Sheriff Re-election 2027, has inaugurated its Aniocha North Local Government Area executive committee as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The inauguration ceremony held today at Onicha-Ugbo attracted party stakeholders, political leaders and supporters from across the local government area.

Speaking during the event, the Director-General of the initiative, Prof Lawrence Omo-Aghoja, said the formation of the local government structure was a key step in deepening grassroots support for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to him, the newly inaugurated executives have a crucial responsibility to ensure the success of the party’s principal candidates in upcoming elections. He described the task before them as more than routine party work. “The task before the new executives is not merely administrative but transformational,” Omo-Aghoja said.

Highlighting the achievements of the current administrations, he noted that their performance justified continued support. He described the achievements in human capital empowerment and infrastructural development as “worthy of return.”

Omo-Aghoja also announced that the initiative would introduce a reward structure for committed members. “The reward system is second to none, ensuring that dedication and commitment are recognised and rewarded,” he said.

The Women Mobilisation Leader of the initiative, Comrade Nneka Patricia, also addressed the gathering, calling for greater participation of women in the mobilisation drive. She described women as key actors in community development and political engagement.

Patricia urged them to use their influence within families and communities to promote the initiative’s objectives, noting that they are “mothers of every person and community.”

Goodwill messages were also delivered by prominent supporters of the initiative. Founder of the group, Hon. Mrs Jennifer Aragbata-Etuk, in a message sent from Atlanta, United States, expressed confidence in the newly inaugurated executives and stressed the need for unity in achieving the group’s political goals.

Similarly, Delta State Commissioner for Finance and President of the initiative, Chief Fidelis Tilije Okenmor, congratulated the new leadership and urged them to remain committed to the ideals of the party and the development of Aniocha North.

Also speaking, the initiative’s Strategy and Planning Lead, Dcn Mosindi Michael, encouraged members to intensify grassroots engagement.

He urged them to “do their best in preaching the gospel of our principal President Tinubu and Gov. Sheriff for the good works they are doing to promote the Nation and Delta State respectively.”

The highlight of the event was the inauguration of a 21-member executive committee for the Aniocha North chapter of the initiative.

The committee is led by Dcns Ebele Sedenu as Local Government Coordinator, with Mr Peter Osadunme serving as Deputy Coordinator and Onyeama Kosisochukwu as General Secretary.
