DELTA State government has resolved the lingering dispute between Ewulu youths and their monarch in Aniocha South Local Government Area.
This was revealed by the Special Adviser to the Governor of Peace Building and Conflict Resolution, Chief Edwin Uzor while playing host to the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Newspapers, Mr Joseph Oromonokpaye and a team of regular publishers at his office in Asaba.
According to him, the dispute, which emanated from land agitation last year had led to the loss of life, but noted that with the intervention of his office, peace has prevailed.
He charged them to be objective in their reportage, adding that the governor had performed creditably well for Deltans.
Uzor assured them of synergy in the dissemination of information regarding the activities of his office.
He urged those who are aware of happenings in the grassroots to effectively report the activities of the governor.
He advised them as grassroots publishers to be objective in thier reportage, as they were the closest to people in the rural area, hence the need to keep them informed with factual happenings.
On his part, Oromonokpaye assured of good publicity of governor’s activities by the publishers.
He said as publishers residing among those in the rural community, they have been active in reporting news and disseminating information on the MORE agenda to those at the grassroots.
According to him, the publishers consistent publication of the governor’s programmes had led to the many accolades from the masses and commended Chief Uzor’s effort in conflict management in the state.
While congratulating Uzor on his appointment, he appealed for synergy with the Office of Special Adviser to the Governor of Peace Building and Conflict Resolution.
