Abala Uno Community in Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State was recently, agog with jubilation as an All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart in the area, Prince Ugochukwu Ogbuenyi distributed Christmas/New Year Palliative to over 100 widows in the area.
The event which coincided with his House warming ceremony, saw the widows going home with bags of rice, wrappers, bags of salt, cash and other valuables.
The benefactor, Prince Ugochukwu Ogbuenyi also known as Fresh Air, noted that the event was part of his commitment towards impacting the lives of the vulnerable in the society, particularly, widows
He enjoined the privileged individuals in the society to always lift some fingers of assistance on the less privileged just as he commended the widows for holding faith in God in spite of their challenges.
The event attracted who-is-who in the community including the traditional ruler, His Royal Highness (HRH), Igwe Frederick Egbunkeonye (Igwe of Abala Kingdom), the council of chiefs, friends, and well-wishers.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Coordinator, Fresh Air Grassroot Movement, Comrade Ikechukwu Chukwuji commended the benefactor for the gesture stressing that it would go a long in alleviating the economic situations of the beneficiaries.
He urged the people of Abala Uno to throw their weights behind the political aspiration of the benefactor, Prince Ugochukwu Ogbuenyi even as he urged them to continue to support the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Sir Monday Onyeme and Prince Emeka Osamuta.
One of the beneficiaries and, Coordinator, Abala Uno Widows Forum, Mrs. Victoria Nwaefulu, commended the donor, Prince Ugochukwu Ogbuenyi for the gesture just as she prayed for God’s sustained blessings on the man she called; “Our helper”
