…King Whiskey, Nani, Others Applaud His Leadership Qualities

HIGH Chief Solomon Odemero Ojariafe has been installed as the new Unugbrogodo of Idjerhe Kingdom, Ethiope West Local Government Area, Delta State, following the passing of late Chief Josiah Agbamitotor.

Until his elevation, Ojariafe served as the immediate past Unuevworo of the Idjerhe Central Oguedion;  a role which he earned admiration for his dignity, sincerity, intelligence, and exceptional leadership qualities.

The traditional installation ceremony took place at the Idjerhe Central Oguedion, where the most senior Chief, Isaac Ejenavi, performed the customary rites. In line with tradition, Chief Ejenavi symbolically moved Ojariafe from the Unuevworo seat and placed him on the revered Unugbrogodo seat, signifying the formal transfer of authority and responsibilities.

The rites continued at the royal palace of His Royal Majesty, King Monday Obukowho Whiskey Udurhie I, the Ovie of the Great Idjerhe Kingdom

King Whiskey described the installation as a solemn and significant cultural assignment, praising Ojariafe, popularly known as Solodems—l, for his sterling performance as Unuevworo and urging him to lead with fairness, openness, and inclusiveness.

Speaking with newsmen after his confirmation, Ojariafe expressed profound gratitude to God, the monarch, chiefs, youths, women, and all illustrious sons and daughters of Idjerhe for entrusting him with the highly esteemed position. He pledged to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to sustain peace, unity, and progress across the kingdom.

According to him, the day marked one of the happiest moments for his family and the entire Idjerhe people. He emphasized his commitment to continue working for the collective interest of the kingdom, adding that his experience as a “digital Unuevworo” would now drive a more digitized and innovative administrative approach as Unugbrogodo. Prominent personalities including Chief William Nani, Bishop Precious Akpore, and Hon. Blessing Achoja expressed optimism about Ojariafe’s capacity to further advance the kingdom. They described his emergence as timely and reaffirmed their confidence in his ability to deliver.
