A political pressure group comprising political appointees and stakeholders from the Eleven (11) wards of Ughelli South under the aegis of Ughelli South United Forum (USUF), has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, as their unopposed candidates for the 2027 Presidential and Delta governorship elections , respectively
The group, led by the Executive Assistant (EA) on Security to Governor Oborevwori, Chief Godwin Okporoko, pledged to rally support from their various units and wards in Ughelli South Local Government Area, to ensure total victory for the All Progressives Congress ( APC), by also strengthening voter registration advocacy in their areas .
The endorsement of President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori was pronounced when the body paid visits to the Delta State Chairman of the APC, Elder Omeni Sobotie, and Commissioner for Works (Highways and Urban Roads) , Comrade Reuben lzeze , at the Party (APC) secretariat , and the Commissioner,s office , respectively, in Asaba
In his address on behalf of the group’s Chairman, the spokesman and currently Senior Special Assistant on Political Matters to Governor Oborevwori, Chief Michael Oshetigho, assured Delta APC Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, of the Ughelli South United Forum’s determination to ensure that no stone is left unturned in delivering the local government for President Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s re-election as well as other APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
He assured the state party Chairman of the forum’s desire to work with the party at the local government, senatorial and state levels, for the purpose of ensuring a formidable united front.
In his response, Elder Omeni Sobotie, commended the forum members for taking the initiative to interact with the party leadership in the state, with a view to strengthening the bonds of unity and fine-tuning strategies that will ensure Ughelli South surpasses its past electoral records in previous elections
The State APC Chairman assured them that all members were of equal status and entitled to the same benefits as there is nothing like new or old members.
Elder Sobotie emphasized that any party which contested against the APC in Delta State would meet “a brick wall” due to the formidable strength the party currently enjoys in its membership and unity of purpose.
