AS the world marked International Youth Day, yesterday, Delta State Commissioner for youth development, Barr. ThankGod Trakiriowei has assured youths of the state government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for them to thrive.
In a statement made available to the press, the Commissioner highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to support youth development through various programs and initiatives, including skills training, entrepreneurship and educational support, mentorship programs among others.
The statement further read: ‘’ Today, we join the global community in recognizing the vital role that young people play as agents of change, leaders, and innovators. Their energy, creativity, and passion are essential for building a prosperous and sustainable future”.
“We are committed to creating an enabling environment where young people can thrive. We are also working to address challenges such as unemployment and limited opportunities for empowerment”, he said.
The Commissioner emphasized the importance of digital literacy and access to technology in positioning them for success in today’s world.
International Youth Day is observed annually to celebrate young people’s achievements and to promote action that addresses the challenges they face globally.
