The Olotu and Ekuogbe Rowland Akpodiete Foundation recently marked its 7th anniversary by empowering PDP women leaders in the Ughelli/Udu Federal Constituency.
The ceremony was held at Otor-Ihwreko town hall, was filled with joy and excitement.
The Executive Director of the foundation, Hon. Dr. Olotu Otemu Akpodiete, emphasized that the program aimed to scale up the welfare of the party and demonstrate its strength. Despite recent defections, including the sitting Governor of the state and several stakeholders moving to APC, Dr. Akpodiete assured that PDP was alive and ready to reclaim its lost glory. “By the grace of God, come 2027, we shall take over the affairs of our country Nigeria,” he stated.
The three PDP LGA Chairmen in attendance commended Dr. Akpodiete for his generosity and encouraged the beneficiaries to spread the party’s good news. They noted that the upcoming national convention would restructure and strengthen the party. “Our National convention is coming soon to restructure and strengthen the party,” they said. “No women, no politics,” they added, commending Dr. Akpodiete for empowering the women.
Udu LGA Acting Chairman, Comr. Kenairu Johnbull, delivered a keynote address, commending Dr. Akpodiete for the program. “Let me assure you today, any moment from now, we are holding our convention and the party would bounce back fully,” he said. “Go home and continue to spread the gospel about our party, and this is just the beginning of greater things to come.”
Mrs. Okiemute Godspower, Udu PDP Acting Women Leader, thanked Dr. Akpodiete for the empowerment and assured that the women would stand firmly with the party in 2027. “Come 2027, we would stand firmly with both the party and the convener,” she stated.
Each beneficiary received a wrapper and cash gift from Dr. Akpodiete, leaving them excited and grateful. A major highlight of the event was a vote of explicit confidence in Dr. Akpodiete, the Acting PDP Chairman of Ughelli North, Ughelli and Udu, Chairman South-South Caretaker committee,Elder Emmanuel Ogidi and the party’s national chairman, Umar Damagum.
The ceremony was attended by prominent PDP leaders, including Hon. Daniel Emaye, PDP Acting Chairman Ughelli North LGA; Olorogun Akpokemerha Godwin, PDP Acting Chairman Ughelli South LGA; and Comr. Kenairu Johnbull, PDP Acting Chairman Udu LGA.
