RESIDENTS of Uvwie Local Government Area have expressed appreciation to the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for the ongoing rehabilitation of the ever-busy PTI Road in Effurun.
The project, which is aimed at easing traffic congestion and improving road safety, has drawn positive reactions from the community, many of whom say it is a welcome development.
Speaking with newsmen, Mr. Paul Ogheneyoma, a resident and business owner along the route, expressed his excitement and gratitude.
“We are very happy with what the governor is doing; PTI Road has been in a bad state for too long, especially the Effurun market axis. The rehabilitation will bring great relief to motorists, residents, and business owners alike,” Ogheneyoma said.
He added that the smooth flow of traffic and improved road conditions would boost economic activities and reduce accidents on the road.
A Keke rider, Mr. Monday Ehbojie who plies from PTI Junction to Jakpa Junction expressed a joy over the road rehabilitation, adding that the smooth flow of traffic would reduce the amount of fuel he buys on a daily basis.
Other residents who spoke with our correspondent echoed similar sentiments, commending the Oborevwori-led administration for responding to the cries of the people and taking visible steps toward infrastructural development in Uvwie.
The PTI Road serves as a major link road between Warri and its environs, and its rehabilitation is seen as a strategic move to enhance connectivity and stimulate growth in the area.
