Unity, Accountability Bedrock Of Urhobo Nation —Amori

THE Chief Adviser to Delta State Governor, Senator Ighoyota Amori has emphasized that accountability and togetherness remain the foundation for the growth and progress of the Urhobo Nation.

Senator Amori made this known when he received the leadership of the Association of Urhobo Sons and Daughters in Service (AUSDS) on a courtesy visit to his office in Asaba.

He lauded the formation of the Association as a noble initiative aimed at strengthening solidarity among Urhobo professionals serving across different sectors, noting that unity is essential for sustainable development.

“Accountability and togetherness are the bedrock of our progress as a people. When solidarity is brought into a family, growth follows. No Urhobo son or daughter should ever feel alone, no matter where they work,” Senator Amori stated.

Earlier in her address, the National President of AUSDS, Mrs. Alimatu Okolakpa, said the visit was to formally introduce the Association to the Chief Adviser, describing him as a respected statesman and key figure in Urhobo Nation who has played a significant role in governance especially since the return to civilian rule.

Also speaking, the State Chairman of AUSDS, Mr. Afe Clement, who is a Director of Administration in the Ministry of Energy, Delta State; called on all Urhobo sons and daughters to close ranks and embrace unity, stressing that internal division only hinders progress.

“The marginalization of Urhobo among Urhobos should be frowned upon. Unity among us is the springboard for development in Urhobo land,” he said.

Senator Amori expressed appreciation for the visit and assured the group of his unwavering support in advancing their vision of promoting unity, accountability and service within the Urhobo Nation.

“Your vision aligns with our shared desire to see an empowered Urhobo Nation where every son and daughter contributes meaningfully to our collective advancement,” he added.
