Trad Rulers Endorse Anioma State Creation

  • Inaugurate Nwaoboshi as Chairman, Technical Committee

The Apex Association of Anioma Indigenes Inc. (AAAI), an affiliate of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, has commended the unanimous endorsement of the creation of Anioma State as the sixth state of the South-East geopolitical zone by the Anioma Traditional Rulers.

This landmark endorsement was formally sealed at the Palace of the Obuzor of Ibusa, where His Royal Majesty, Obi Professor Louis Chelunor Nwaoboshi, the Obuzor of Ibusa, was officially inaugurated as Chairman of the Technical Committee for the Creation of Anioma State.

Speaking on behalf of the Association, the President-General, Apostle Patrick Nwanze (Agu Anioma), described the event as “a defining milestone in the collective struggle, identity, and legitimate aspirations of the Anioma people.”

Apostle Nwanze, a business development consultant, respected Anioma leader, and a strong proponent of strategic partnerships for regional growth and sustainable development, emphasized that the Apex Association, with the full backing of its Board of Trustees and worldwide membership, had consistently championed the creation of Anioma State through sustained press engagements, policy advocacy, stakeholder consultations, and public enlightenment. According to him, the unity now demonstrated by the Anioma traditional rulers has provided the struggle with an unassailable cultural, moral, and political foundation.

The association further acknowledged the strategic legislative and advocacy roles being played by Senator Ned Munir Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, in advancing the Anioma State agenda at the national level.

Senator Nwoko’s sustained legislative engagements, stakeholder mobilization, and public advocacy have helped reposition the Anioma question as one firmly rooted in justice, inclusion, equity, and balanced federalism, he explained.

“The inauguration of His Royal Majesty, the Obuzor of Ibusa, as Chairman of the Technical Committee is a clear expression of confidence in his wisdom, integrity, and unwavering commitment to the Anioma cause. Under his distinguished leadership, the Technical Committee is well-positioned to provide the strategic coordination and technical direction required to actualize this historic mandate,” Apostle Nwanze stated.

The President-General further expressed personal pride in the occasion, noting that beyond his official capacity, he is a traditional son of Ibusa, the hometown of the Obuzor of Ibusa. He also highlighted that His Royal Majesty is the Grand Patron of the Apex Association of Anioma Indigenes Inc. (AAAI). He described the moment as both a collective triumph for the Anioma people and a deeply personal milestone in Anioma history.

The Apex Association of Anioma Indigenes Inc. reaffirmed its total support, loyalty, and strategic partnership with the Technical Committee, the Anioma Council of Traditional Rulers, Senator Ned Munir Nwoko, other Anioma political leaders, professionals, youths, women groups, and all Anioma stakeholders at home and in the diaspora toward the successful realization of Anioma State.

In separate goodwill messages, the Secretary-General, Prof. Adaobi Patricia Ugbomeh, and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Prof. Engr. Emmanuel Anaza, encouraged Ndi Anioma at home and in the diaspora to actively identify with and join AAAI, noting that the Association’s vision and mission are noble, people-centered, and development-driven.

The Association called on all Anioma sons and daughters to remain united, committed, and proactive as efforts intensify to secure justice, equity, inclusive governance, and sustainable development through the creation of Anioma State.
