IN a bid to promote continuity and enhance productivity in the education sector, Comrade Jacob Amayo, a seasoned educationist and former Secretary, Ika-South Local Education Authority (LEA), has called on teachers to lend their full support to the newly appointed LEA Secretary, Mr. Chima Anyia.
Amayo made the appeal during a courtesy visit by Mr Anyia and his entourage to his country home, Abavo recently. The new L.E.A. Secretary had sought Amayo’s counsel and support, expressing his desire to sustain the collaborative relationship that flourished during Amayo’s tenure.
“We need the support of all teachers to deliver on our mandate,” said Anyia, emphasizing the importance of teamwork in achieving educational excellence. Amayo, who also served as the former Deputy Chairman Delta State chapter of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), echoed this sentiment. He urged all educators in the local government area to extend the same spirit of cooperation and unity to his successor.
“I implore all teachers to support Chima Anyia in his new role, .We must work together to ensure the delivery of quality education in our local government area. I have no doubt that with collective effort, we can accomplish great things,” he said
Amayo’s endorsement is particularly significant at a time when the education sector is grappling with numerous challenges. His public backing of the new L.E.A. Secretary is expected to boost morale among educators and encourage stronger collaboration within the teaching community.
He urged teachers to give their best, noting the immense contributions of the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori toward advancing the state’s education sector.
