RESIDENTS of Ememho Street, Asaba, are set to experience relief as construction of a new drainage system progresses steadily. The project, which commenced last Sunday, is being supervised by Jefcon & Associates Limited.
The drainage project consists of a one-sided concrete drain measuring approximately 0.9 metres in width and 1.2 metres in length, with the height varying along the construction line to suit the terrain.
According to the contractor, Charles Onwuafu, the work is expected to be completed within the next few days. “Upon completion at Enemor Street, the construction company will move to DBS Road, which has been identified as the next possible location for similar drainage works,” he said.
Residents in the area have been advised to exercise patience during the construction period, as the project is aimed at improving stormwater flow and reducing flooding within the area.
