Projects Execution: Oborevwori Still Maintaining Standard says Agbi

Delta State Government is not resting on its oars as it continues to put modalities in place to ensure that residents are safe and governance is felt in every nook and cranny of the state.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Project Monitoring and Audit, Engr. Goodnews Agbi made the submission during a project inspection in Asaba.

This came on the heels of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s visit to the project site of the construction of flood control measures on Summit Road through Nwelih street; St. Patrick’s College, West-End Mixed Secondary School; Uche Medua Igeh close to Amilimocha stream; construction of flood control measures around Madonna College road phase 1 & 2; rehabilitation of road and construction of concrete drainage channels along Jesus Saves Road in Asaba, all in Oshimili South Local Government Area, through his Special Adviser, Engr. Dr. Goodnews Agbi.

He explained that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, who had promised to be Governor for all, was carrying out projects in every local government area and ensuring that contractors deliver the jobs according to specification not minding the weather.

Agbi noted the significance of the projects, saying, “once that job is completed the whole flood water troubling Asaba especially from DBS down to Asaba mall will be taken care of. The contractor has promised to complete the project before the end of the year leaving us with a healthier environment because the contractor took their level from the discharge point, getting into the river.”

The team, led by the special Adviser, moved from Asaba to the state Southern University in Orerokpe where they were joined by some other team of experts led by the OFAAC President, Kester Ifeadi. The project, which is at its finishing stage, will be delivered by the end of October.

The Special Adviser also visited the construction site of the Model Technical College, Kiagbodo in Burutu local government area where he noted that “alot of work is going on in some of the buildings, especially the administrative block we found some faults at the expansion joint. We saw the manpower and technical staff here and we believe that the project monitoring engineers will need to join them for the next phase of the construction which is at the super structure as the substructure has been completed.”
