The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 65-year-old man, Akpan Godwin, in Nkpor, Onitsha, for unlawful possession of 1,100 rounds of live ammunition.
In a statement issued yesterday by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, officers attached to the Rapid Response Squad, Akwuzu, apprehended the suspect on August 22, 2025, following credible intelligence.
During interrogation, the suspect reportedly confessed to being involved in the illegal sale of ammunition and provided information about other individuals connected to the illicit trade.
SP Tochukwu added that the operatives have intensified efforts to investigate and apprehend all accomplices. Further developments will be communicated in due course.
