THE President General of Uvwie General Improvement Union (UGIU) , High Chief Abovi Hope Erute has expressed optimism that the establishment of an Effurun Police Area Command will boost security and reduce crime in the area.
Erute who doubles as the Isirerha of Etche R’ Alegbo (traditional administrative unit) in Uvwie Kingdom stated this an exclusive media chat with our correspondent at his office in Petroleum Training Institute ( PTI) Effurun Uvwie Local Government Area last weekend.
He remarked that the establishment of the Police Command was a positive response of the Nigerian Police to police the area more so with the swollen population of the Effurun/ Warri metropolis.
He was delighted the more with the posting of a former Divisional Police Officer ( DPO ) in charge Ekpan Police Divisional Quarters , MrAliuShabba ( who has been promoted to Assistant Commissioner of Police) as the Police Area Commander of the newly established Area Command as he described him as a crime buster who has won numerous awards for his good works.
The President- General of UGIU Worldwide therefore warned the bad and the ugly in the area to change from their evil ways or else they will be picked by ACP AliuShabba.
