A pastor (names withheld) of one of the Apostolic Churches in Igbide Community, Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State has been accused of sleeping with a married woman who is also a member of his church.
Investigations revealed that the pastor and the married woman have indulged in the illegal sex for long until recently when she started having constant nightmares of dead persons chasing her; and was forced to let out the secret to her husband.
According to information gathered, the woman, who was grip with fear as a result of the reoccurrence of the disturbing nightmares, was forced to confess to her husband, who advised her to meet the elders of the family knowing full well the consequences of contravening the customs and tradition of his people and its implications
Following the advise, the woman later confessed the abominable act before the family elders after serious probation, affirming not just her illicit sexual intercourse with the Pastor, but the different occasions and locations which were described as being part of purgatory measures of appeasing the gods of the land.
As at time of filing this report, the Pastor has been summoned by the woman’s husband family as tradition demands and a fine of N1 million was imposed on him for desecrating the land and to perform all the necessary rites and atonement after he admitted to alleged crime. A reliable source, who chose to remain anonymous confirmed the story and noted that some members of the church, mostly female contributed a larger portion of the N1m which was paid to the family and community, alleging that the married woman in question is presently pregnant.
