JUST IN: One Killed In Cult Clash In Agbarho

A suspected cultist has been killed in a clash with a rival cult group in Agbarho community, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

Although details were sketchy, it was learnt that the deceased, whose remains have been deposited in a morgue in Agbarho, was a member of one of the groups.

The deceased, simply identified as Emuobo, was killed in Oka community during the clash.

A security source who confirmed the incident on condition of anonymity disclosed that the clash was between Aro Bagger and Eiye confraternities.

According to the security source, “There was a cult clash between two rival cult groups, Aro Bagger and Eiye confraternity, behind the market in Oka community of Agbarho. The two groups were led by Jonathan Tobore and Elvis Ogheneovo, respectively.

“The clash led to the death of a young man, identified as Emuobo. His corpse was recovered from the scene and has been deposited at the Agbarho General Hospital mortuary.

“No arrest has been made, but the police attached to Agbarho Division are currently investigating the matter and are on the trail of his killers and other cult members.”

Efforts to contact the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, were unsuccessful as calls and messages sent to his mobile phone were not answered or returned at the time of this report.
