LEADERS of the Okuama Community, today, paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty, Clement Oghenerukevwe Ikolo, Urhukpe I, the King of Ewu Kingdom, to offer a formal apology over his recent arrest in connection with the Okuama-Nigerian military incident.
The delegation, led by Archbishop Ojigbo, described the monarch’s arrest as unjust and expressed deep regret over the situation. They commended the king for his unwavering commitment to the unity and development of the kingdom despite the challenges.
The leaders also reaffirmed their loyalty and pledged to work closely with the traditional institution to restore peace and fast-track development in the community.
In his response, the Monarch, thanked the delegation for the visit and gesture of reconciliation. He assured them of his continuous efforts to promote unity, peace, and growth in Okuama and the larger Ewu Kingdom.
The monarch urged the community leaders to be God-fearing and uphold justice as they work towards healing and progress.
The meeting ended with a mutual agreement to sustain dialogue and strengthen cooperation to achieve lasting peace and prosperity in the community.
