It was a moment of warmth and appreciation at the headquarters of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) as the Executive Director of Projects, Olorogun Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu, celebrates his secretary Helen Abumere, on her birth anniversary.
The modest event, which was held today at the commission’s headquarters in Warri brought together colleagues, management staff, and well-wishers, who joined in honoring the celebrant.
Dr. Okorodudu, in his remarks, praised his secretary for her loyalty, efficiency, and unwavering commitment to duty, noting that her diligence has contributed immensely to the smooth running of his office. He used the occasion to reaffirm his passion for staff welfare, declaring:
“I don’t play with the welfare of workers. I am interested in the welfare of workers, and I have a culture of celebrating my staff. Every worker deserves to live a good life and a happy life.”
He added that moments such as birthdays provide opportunities not only to honour individuals but also to strengthen the bond of unity and shared purpose within the Commission.
The celebration featured cutting of cake, goodwill messages, and presentation of gifts from staff who extolled her humility, patience, and professionalism in handling official matters.
In her response, the secretary expressed gratitude to Dr. Okorodudu for the recognition and for creating a work environment that values the contributions of every staff member. She pledged to continue giving her best to the service of the commission.
