Breaking: Ogwashi-Uku Gets First Female Acting Rector

History was made at the Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku (DSPG), as Dr (Mrs) Erere Anho has been appointed as the Acting Rector of the institution, becoming the first woman to hold the position since the polytechnic’s inception.

Dr (Mrs) Anho’s elevation comes on the heels of a trailblazing career marked by several firsts. She was the institution’s first female Head of Department, Mass Communication, and later became the first female Deputy Rector, appointed by the Governing Council in September 2024.

A native of Abraka in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, Dr (Mrs) Anho began her academic journey in the institution as an Assistant Lecturer and rose steadily through dedication and hard work to the rank of Chief Lecturer.

Before her appointment as Deputy Rector, she served as a Chief Lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication and as the Congregation Representative in the Governing Council of the Polytechnic.

Known for her commitment to academic excellence and institutional development, Dr (Mrs) Anho has consistently demonstrated visionary leadership. She is widely respected for her drive to make the Polytechnic a model of academic innovation, moral discipline, and professional competence.

In congratulating her on her historic elevation, the Polytechnic’s Information and Public Relations Department described Dr (Mrs) Anho as a trailblazer whose achievements continue to inspire women in academia and administration.

Her appointment as Acting Rector marks a new milestone in the institution’s history and reaffirms Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku’s dedication to gender inclusivity and academic excellence.
