Ogedegbe Reaffirms Commitment To Healthcare Delivery In Ethiope East

BY GEORGE UNUSHEMI

THE Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Council, Hon. Augustine Ogedegbe has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to improving healthcare delivery across the council area, as he throws his weight behind the forthcoming Nifer Torch Life Foundation (NTLF) free medical outreach.

Hon. Ogedegbe gave the assurance in his office at Isiokolo, the administrative headquarters of Ethiope East, while receiving a delegation from NTLF who visited to formally inform him about the upcoming medical programme.

The Chairman commended the group for selecting Ethiope East as a beneficiary of the outreach and acknowledged the role of the Delta State Government in facilitating the collaboration with Sunshine Care Initiative, USA, and You Matter Charity Foundation.

He further pledged to leverage the council’s communication channels to publicize the outreach and ensure its success in both communities.

“I don’t joke with health issues. I will do my best to mobilize residents with various health challenges to participate and benefit from this generous and life-saving gesture.” He said.

Earlier, the team lead of NTLF, Dr. Ovie Akoro, said that the outreach, which is scheduled to hold on June 11th and 12th, 2025, in Eku and Kokori respectively, was aimed at offering free and quality medical care to residents.

He noted that the initiative comprised a team of dedicated health professionals, including doctors, surgeons, opticians, and dentists, and called for the local government support in sensitizing the populace to participate.
