Oborevwori, Omo-Agege Partnership Will Strengthen APC, Benefit Deltans —Oghenesivbe

The Director-General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, Dr Latimore Oghenesivbe, has said that the renewed partnership between Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and former Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, will strengthen the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State and translate into tangible benefits for the people.

Dr Oghenesivbe spoke following the appearance of Senator Omo-Agege at the second Delta APC Stakeholders’ Meeting held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House, Asaba, describing the development as a major boost for unity, stability and progress within the party.

The meeting, which attracted top party leaders and stakeholders from across the state, was marked by excitement as Omo-Agege made a public return to the party’s frontline after months of political speculation surrounding his silence following the defection of Governor Oborevwori and the entire Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) structure in Delta State to the APC in April 2025.

According to Dr Oghenesivbe, the former Deputy Presidnt of the Senate declaration of readiness to work with Governor Oborevwori to advance the development of Delta State signalled political maturity and a shared commitment to the collective interest of Deltans.

“The willingness of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege to close ranks clearly shows statesmanship and an understanding that the development of Delta State must come above personal or partisan considerations,” Oghenesivbe said.

He noted that the partnership reinforces the long-held principle that politics has no permanent enemies, but permanent interests, stressing that a united APC was better positioned to deliver good governance, stability and sustainable development across the state.

Dr Oghenesivbe expressed optimism that the renewed collaboration would deepen internal cohesion within the APC and enhance the party’s capacity to drive policies and programmes that directly impact the lives of Deltans.

He further commended party leaders and stakeholders for embracing reconciliation and urged members of the Delta APC to remain united in supporting Governor Oborevwori’s administration and the shared vision of a stronger, more prosperous Delta State.
