Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has been commended for the state’s sustained investment in healthcare financing, a development that has significantly improved health indices across Delta State.
The commendation came from enrollees of the Delta State Contributory Health Commission at Government Hospital, Owa-Alero, during a visit by the Director-General of the Delta State Contributory Health Commission, Dr. Isaac Akpoveta.
The visit was aimed at assessing service delivery and engaging with enrollees and healthcare providers under the state’s contributory health scheme.
During the inspection, the Commission’s leadership expressed satisfaction with the quality of care, functionality of facilities, and the growing confidence of residents in the scheme.
Speaking with Journalists, the Director-General commended Governor Oborevwori for the consistent release of funds to health facilities, noting that this has ensured uninterrupted service delivery and prompt reimbursement under the scheme.
He also acknowledged the efforts of the State Ministry of Health and the Hospital Management Board in strengthening access to affordable and quality healthcare.
The Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Ejiro Osama, described the visit as timely and encouraging, noting that regular funding and supervision have improved staff motivation and operational efficiency.
Enrollees at the facility, mostly pregnant women, expressed satisfaction with the scheme, citing reduced waiting time, availability of essential drugs, and prompt response from healthcare workers.
