THE Senator representing Delta North Senatorial district, Senator Ned Nwoko, has provided relief on the dilapidated Onicha-Ugbo, Idumuje-Ugboko, Ewohimi road to cushion the effects of flood triggered by heavy rainfall.
Recall that Onicha Ugbo, Idumuje Ugboko/Ewohimi road, has been in a deplorable state, causing significant challenges for heavy-duty trucks and community dwellers. The road’s deterioration has been attributed to the overuse by trucks conveying products from the Ugboba mining site and Dangote trucks from the Okpella cement factory.
Residents have continued to commended the intervention of Senator Ned Nwokoand the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for sending a team of engineers to assess the damage and develop a plan for repairs.
While awaiting the NDDC’s permanent solution, Senator Nwoko, has taken it upon himself to provide an interim measure to alleviate the suffering of the people, adding that over the past three days, he has been filling the bad spots with hardcore granites, allowing trucks to pass through without getting stuck.
Meanwhile the timely intervention has brought relief to business owners and drivers alike, who were feeling the negative impact of the poor road conditions.
