Nwaebuni, alongside 16 other media practitioners from reputable print and electronic media organisations across the country, was inducted at the 2025 NGE Annual Conference in Abuja, the first edition ever attended by a sitting President.
Other inductees included Abioye Kennedy (Editor, Punch), Lilian Onyegule (Director-General, Imo Broadcasting Corporation), Jubrin Ndace (Director-General, Voice of Nigeria), Chinemenma Umeseaka (General Manager, Universal Television Africa), Constance Ikokwu (Arise News) and Samson Folarin (Weekend Editor, Punch).
Also making the list were the Director-General of Ebonyi Broadcasting Corporation, Anthony Nwizi, Jenkins Alumona (online publisher), Okah-Jonah Ibifuro of the Bayelsa Broadcasting Corporation, Fagbule Francis (Editor, Businessday), Umoetuk Florence of the Akwa Ibom Broadcasting Corporation and Bamidele Johnson (Managing Editor of an online platform). Also, Omale Samson of Silverbird Television, Simon Igwe-Iroh of the Ebonyi Broadcasting Corporation and Chioma Ugboma of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) were among those who subscribed to relevant oaths of the NGE administered by Femi Adesina.
Furthermore, the NGE inducted six distinguished members into its College of Fellows, Arinze Azuh, Casmir Igbokwe, Ephraims Sheyin, Dr Amanze Obi, Dr Suleiman Sule and Chief Ken Njoku.
While taking the oath of allegiance, the new inductees, having been found worthy to be members of the Guild, affirmed to be faithful and loyal to the NGE, pledging to abide by its code of conduct.
They further reaffirmed their commitment to accuracy, fairness and integrity in their endeavours, adding that they will not engage in practices capable of lowering expected standards of the NGE or the journalism profession.
Following her induction into the prestigious body, Nwaebuni expressed gratitude to God for His mercies and guidance throughout her illustrious journalism career, during which she steadily rose to the pinnacle of the profession. She commended Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for trusting her to lead the state-owned print media outfit, just as she thanked the Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, for his efforts in repositioning the state’s information architecture in line with the MORE Agenda.

Until her appointment as General Manager, Nwaebuni, a graduate of Mass Communication, Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, served as Political Editor, Deputy Editor, and Weekend Editor, among other notable editorial positions.
