New Defence Ministry Assumes Office, Meets Service Chiefs

Newly appointed Minister of Defence and former Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa on today officially assumed duties at the Ministry of Defence Headquarters, Ship House, Abuja.

Musa, whose appointment was confirmed by the Senate on Thursday following his nomination by President Bola Tinubu, arrived at the ministry at about 11:10 a.m., where he was received with full military honours and inspected the quarter guard in line with tradition.

The appointment comes days after the resignation of former Minister Muhammed Badaru.

Upon his arrival, the former CDS held a closed-door meeting with the service Chiefs and the ministry’s directors.
