Ndokwa Youth Leaders Pledge Support For Tinubu, Oborewvori, Hails DESOPADEC On Youth Development

The various youth associations in Ndokwa ethnic nationality have unanimously passed a vote of confidence on the impactful leadership of President Bola Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and DESOPADEC board, citing economic reforms, developmental projects and youth friendly initiatives across Ndokwa nation.

The youths under the aegis of various community and advocacy groups made this declaration late Friday, in a meeting convened by Dr. Charles Olisa, a member representing Ndokwa ethnic nationality on the Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (DESOPADEC) Board, held in Kwale, Ndokwa East LGA, Delta State.

According to the group, the administration of President Bola Tinubu has shown bold steps in addressing longstanding economic, security and governance challenges. While Governor Oborewvori’s policies in the state have created opportunities for youth through skills acquisitions, education and infrastructure projects across the state.

They also commended the leadership of DESOPADEC for sustaining DESOPADEC Skill acquisition, bursary, grants for youths and women, and community development projects across the mandate areas, noting that such interventions have contributed to reducing youth restiveness among youths.

The stakeholders also praised the member representing Ndokwa ethnic nationality on the board of DESOPADEC, Dr. Charles Olisa’s accessibility, engagement, commitment, and dedication to community engagement.

In a unanimous decision the group passed a vote of confidence on visionary leadership of President Tinubu, Governor Oborevwori and DESOPADEC, and urged them to sustain the current pace of development stressing that continued investment in education, employment, healthcare, and infrastructure would further strengthen the peace and progress in the oil-bearing communities.

In his address, the member representing Ndokwa ethnic nationality on the board of DESOPADEC, Dr. Charles Olisa, appreciated the youths for their support, and maintaining a peaceful environment for oil companies to thrive.

He commended President Tinubu for policies aimed at stabilizing the economy and Governor Oborevwori infrastructure development in Ndokwa nation noting that several road projects have improved connectivity and economic activities in the area.

He stated that DESOPADEC under the leadership of the board Chairman, Olorogun Barr. John Nani and Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer, Chief Festus Ochonogor remains committed to youth development in the oil producing communities.

He highlighted the commission’s achievements in student bursary support, scholarship programmes, vocational training through the DESOPADEC Skill Academy, entrepreneurial support, empowerment initiatives

As well as projects development which includes NYSC lodge in Akara Obodo, ultra-modern shopping center in Aboh, police station in Aboh, solar lights in Agwetiti, Askaka, Aboh, distribution of learning desk and chairs across ndokwa nation among others.

He said; ‘As part of my commitment to education, I awarded scholarships to 20 Ndokwa students in tertiary institutions. I am pleased to announce that all the beneficiaries have OND programmes. Adding that DESOPADEC will continue to partner with stakeholders to expand opportunities for youths in the oil state.
