By Ebi Nieketien

delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has declared that his administration will make Asaba, the state capital, investors-friendly by ensuring peace and developing relevant infrastructures, promoting education and pursuing youth empowerment.

He said that the exemplary leadership of the Asagba of Asaba, His Royal Majesty, Asagba (Prof.) Epiphany Azinge, has brought remarkable peace and progress in the state within his first year on the throne.

Speaking at the first coronation anniversary celebration of the revered monarch in Asaba, Governor Oborevwori, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Kingsley Emu, described the Asagba’s reign as one that has deepened peace, fostered harmony, and given fresh momentum to the collective progress of the Asaba Kingdom and the State at large.

According to him, “Exactly one year ago, Asaba came alive with a rich tapestry of Anioma culture as we witnessed the enthronement of a monarch whose wisdom is as profound as his pedigree. His eminently distinguished and seamless transition from an erudite scholar and Senior Advocate of Nigeria to the custodian of the proud heritage of Asaba has been nothing short of inspiring

‘’In just one year, His Royal Majesty has demonstrated that leadership grounded in knowledge, justice, and tradition can unite and uplift a people. His reign has already deepened peace, fostered harmony, and given fresh momentum to the collective progress of the Asaba Kingdom and Delta State at large’’.

He reiterated that Asaba held a special place in his administration’s development agenda, assuring that through the M.O.R.E. Agenda, his government would continue to make Asaba a city of peace, security, and opportunity by investing in infrastructure, education, and youth empowerment.

The Governor further commended the monarch for promoting inclusivity and cultural harmony, noting that his leadership style had continued to unite both indigenes and non-indigenes within the Asaba Kingdom.

In his response, the Asagba of Asaba expressed deep gratitude to his people for their trust and support, reiterating his commitment to selfless leadership and the advancement of his kingdom.

He highlighted the achievements of his administration in the past year, including reforms in traditional governance, land management, gender inclusion, education, healthcare, security, and infrastructure development.

The monarch also appreciated the Delta State Government, the Presidency, the Asaba community, traditional rulers, religious institutions, and political stakeholders for their solidarity and partnership throughout his first year on the throne.

He extended special thanks to his wife, family, palace staff, traditional council, and members of the Asagba-in-Council, while urging continuous prayers for sustained peace and progress in the kingdom.
