Motorcyclist Caught Hiding Three Human Skulls In Luggage

The Ogun State Police Command has says its operatives intercepted a motorcycle rider in possession of three human skulls, leading to the arrest of two suspects in Ijebu town.

The Public Relations Officer of the command, CSP Omolola Odutola, who made this known in a statement, said the incident occurred when a team of Mobile Police Officers from 71 PMF Awa Ijebu was conducting a routine stop-and-search operation along the Ijebu Ode/Ibadan Expressway at Refugees Camp Junction, Oru Ijebu.

According to the police spokesperson, during the operation, officers stopped a motorcycle rider identified as Kadir Owolabi, who, upon inspection, was found to have three human skulls concealed in his luggage.

“Preliminary investigation subsequently led to the arrest of another suspect, Jamiu Yisa ‘m’, aged 53, behind Ijebu Ode Local Government Secretariat.”

Odutola said the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to take over the case for discreet investigation.

He urged residents to continue cooperating with the police, assuring them of confidentiality and identity protection.

The arrest added to a disturbing trend of discoveries involving human body parts in parts of Ogun State and neighbouring regions.

In June 2025, police in Osun State arrested three men after they were caught transporting two human heads concealed in a sack, allegedly for ritual purposes.
