OVIE of Idjerhe Kingdom, Ethiope West Local Government Area, Delta State, His Royal Majesty, Monday Obukohwo Whiskey, Udurhie 1, has expressed deep concern over the state of Idjerhe Grammar School, lamenting that the school was vandalized and burgled, leaving the institution in a deplorable condition.
Speaking recently during a visit to the school, His Royal Majesty noted that the development was a significant setback for the school, which is expected to play a crucial role in shaping the minds of future leaders and citizens.
According to him, Idjerhe Grammar School is a notable institution in Idjerhe Kingdom, with a history of contributing to the educational development of the community. “ the current state of the school is a far cry from its erstwhile glory. The vandalism and burglary have likely affected the school’s infrastructure, equipment, and overall learning environment.”
He further disclosed that the sorry state of the school was likely to have a significant impact on the students, teachers, and the broader community, “A school in disarray can hinder the learning process, affect academic performance, and ultimately impact the development of the community. This visit serves as a wake-up call for stakeholders to take action and ensure the school receives the necessary support to overcome its challenges”. He informed that there is a need for collective efforts to address the issues of vandalism, burglary, and the overall decline of the school. “By working together, it is possible to restore the school to its former glory and ensure it continues to play a vital role in the educational development of Idjerhe Kingdom.
