Ighomena Applauds Oborevwori For Reviving Asphalt Plant After 13 Years

The Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has been commended for reviving the Direct Labour Agency (DLA) Oghara Asphalt Plant, which had been abandoned for about 13 years.

The praise came from the Director General of DLA Delta, Chief Emmanuel Ighomena, during the commencement of test production operations at the plant after over a decade of dormancy.

The production test, conducted at the DLA facility in Oghareki-Oghara, Ethiope West Local Government Area, over the weekend, was supervised by Chief Engr. Emmanuel Ighomena, alongside Engr. Christsbel Obiuwevbi, Director, Delta Central; Engr. Ejiofor Lawrence, Director, Delta North; and Engr. Lawrence Eduje, Director, Delta South, among others.

While appreciating Governor Oborevwori for reviving the Oghara Asphalt Plant, the Director General emphasised its strategic importance and usefulness.

He noted that the Asphalt Plants in Oghara, Agbor, and Agbara had been dormant for approximately 13 years, and necessary repairs had now been completed to restore their operations. He added that the plants would play a key role in the construction and maintenance of roads across Delta State.

Other directors of the agency also lauded the state government for constituting a Committee of Engineers to oversee the revival of the plants. They expressed their delight at the successful test production and reaffirmed their readiness to contribute to the development of Delta State roads.
