IN a bold move to boost youth participation in politics, Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Youth Mobilization, Hon. Kelvin Richman, has ramped up efforts to mobilize young people in Ndokwa West Local Government Area to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) through the ongoing electronic voter registration exercise.
Hon. Richman, a dedicated party leader renowned for his impactful youth empowerment initiatives, particularly in Ward 1, Ndokwa West, emphasized the critical role of youths in shaping the future of their communities.
Speaking to newsmen in his hometown Kwale, Ward 1 in Ndokwa West local government area on the initiative, Hon. Richman called for active involvement in the e-registration process, highlighting how it serves as a gateway to greater political influence and community progress.
According to him; “The e-registration exercise is not just a formality; it’s a powerful tool for youths to secure their place in the democratic process,”
Hon. Richman underscored several key advantages of youth engagement, starting with the potential to drive area development.
“By registering in large numbers, youths can bolster the APC’s electoral strength, ensuring victories that translate into tangible improvements in infrastructure, education, and local services.”
“When we win through our collective numbers, we advance the development of Ndokwa West, better roads, jobs, and opportunities for all,” he added.
A standout benefit, according to Hon. Richman, is the increased political patronage and access to the dividends of democracy. Registered young voters gain visibility within the party, opening doors to leadership roles, scholarships, skill-building programs, and government appointments.
“This engagement empowers youths to influence policies directly affecting their lives, from economic empowerment to social welfare.”
“Youths who participate today will reap the rewards of patronage tomorrow, enjoying the full benefits of a responsive democracy,” he explained, drawing from his own track record of successful empowerment schemes that have transformed lives in his ward.
Hon. Richman also aligned his call with the Delta State Governor’s directive for stakeholders to intensify grassroots mobilization and awareness campaigns on e-registration. He warned against voter apathy, noting that disengagement only hinders party growth and youth advancement.
“Keying into the governor’s vision is our top priority. By enlightening and mobilizing at the grassroots, we build a stronger APC and a brighter future for our youths,” he said.
Hon. Richman’s efforts exemplify a strategic push toward inclusive politics, where youth engagement in e-registration not only strengthens party loyalty but also fosters sustainable development and empowerment. As the exercise continues, more young Nigerians are encouraged to seize this opportunity for a more prosperous tomorrow.
