Ezewu Decries Late Arrival of WAEC Materials

BY JUMAI NWACHUKWU
The Delta State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu, has expressed strong dissatisfaction over the delayed delivery of West African Examinations Council (WAEC) materials to examination centers across the state.

Speaking during a monitoring visit to some centers, like Uvwie, Unity school etc across the state including the state capital. Mrs. Ezewu said the late arrival of materials poses a serious threat to the integrity and smooth conduct of the examinations.

“It is unacceptable that students are made to wait due to delays in the arrival of exam materials. This not only disrupts the schedule but also puts undue pressure on the candidates,” she stated.

The Commissioner called on WAEC officials and relevant stakeholders to put effective logistics in place to ensure prompt delivery of materials in future examinations. She emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards and discipline in the conduct of public examinations.

Mrs. Ezewu reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting educational development and ensuring that students in Delta State write their exams in a conducive and well-organized environment.
