A concerned indigene of Gbaregolor Community, Ughelli South Local Government Area, Comrade Wilfred Etarhoro, has appealed for the restoration of the Delta State Maritime Polytechnic, Gbaregolor Campus.
Etarhoro made the appeal in an exclusive media chat with our correspondent at his Warri residence, last weekend.
He disclosed that the institution was established as a campus under the Delta State Maritime Polytechnic, Burutu, when the late Senator Pius Ewheredo (of blessed memory) was a member of the Delta State House of Assembly.
According to him, immediately after the institution was established, the Gbaregolor Community graciously provided a large expanse of land for its take-off.
He, however, lamented that there were no structures, tutors, or staff for the take-off of the Delta State Maritime Polytechnic campus after the land had been provided by the community, as of the time of the media interaction.
Etarhoro, therefore, appealed to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, the Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Senator Ede Dafinone, the member representing Ughelli/Udu Federal Constituency, the Ovie of Ewu-Urhobo Kingdom, HRM Clement Ikolo, and the leadership of Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) Worldwide to see to the restitution of the Gbaregolor Campus of the Delta State Maritime Polytechnic.
